    1. I wonder that too. I’ve been meeting people through my Steemit channel who are living through the crisis. They’re telling me silver and gold can be easily turned into just about anything they want. There isn’t enough circulating to make it a good currency right now but it’s definitely still money.

    2. +D Rutter I’ve heard humors that a single silver dollar would buy 6 months of food in Venezuela, but that info did not come directly from people living there. If that is true then there is food in Venezuela, it is just being horded by people and they are willing to trade it for gold & silver. The police and the gangs rob and kill civilians because the civilians were told to turn in their guns years ago and now they can’t defend themselves from those who do have them. The people who do have gold and silver and try to flee to the airport, have their precious metals confiscated by the gov’t at the airport making them destitute. Things are pretty bad when the gov’t, police and military are the ones robbing and killing civilians, as if the gangs were not enough of a problem.
